Many thanks for a great weekend in Launceston. So many miracles/wonders have happened to me since then. I meditate daily—I’m so relaxed. My sleeping pattern has improved—I’m waking up so refreshed—yet I thought I was OK before the weekend. Once again, many thanks.

I had a really stressful day at work recently – upsetting phone calls and interruptions and I had a report to get out. I remembered my Peaceful Place. Fantastic! It worked like magic. Focused concentration immediately and I easily handled four more annoying phone calls, each in 30 seconds. My work performance had increased.

I have to give many business presentations and my stress always came out as profuse and annoying perspiration. I am now in control of this situation and have no excessive perspiration before or during my presentations.

I write to both thank you and congratulate you for what you are doing to help so many people and for the manner in which your recent seminar was conducted. In the past I have been able to control my stress level fairly well but for the past 12 months it has been "out of control" mainly because of an extremely heavy workload. The result was physical and mental exhaustion. My goal was "to be able to relax at will" and with your guidance through the seminar I am well on the way to achieving this first goal. I have many other goals in mind, one is to pass the message on to as many as I can to read your books, listen to your tapes and attend your seminars. I have prepared a stress management session to run for my staff and nothing I have read or learned is as effective as your methods. I plan to purchase in bulk Piece of Mind and PP1 & 2 for each participant. Thank you sincerely and very best wishes for your continued success.

I was unable to access the Alpha State until I saw Sandy at the Mind Body & Spirit Festival and decided to attend his Seminar. Since then I can easily access Alpha and my PP. I had a great family tragedy which occurred 4 years ago which has caused ongoing depression and I can now "de-stress" and feel much better using the techniques.

I have participated in about 5 Stress Seminars over the last 20 years and none of them gave me the complete answer. Sandy, your PP relaxation technique was the missing piece of the jigsaw. On the basis that I am a very average, ordinary individual, with a practical outlook, who has worked under pressure and accordingly stress, most of my working life, if it worked for me, it should work for others (and it has).

I find your CDs invaluable. I have the full set. I did the full weekend course with you last year. I now get up at 6 every morning in order to have time to go to my PP. My anxiety levels have dropped beautifully – it took about 3 months. I have used number 18 so much. I also want to buy my daughter CD number 18 (or maybe CD 20?) as she is pregnant with her first baby and doesn’t want to let any anxieties pass from her to her unborn baby.

I mainly use the Inner Peace and Harmony CD almost every night when I wake up with my mind racing. It puts me back to sleep. I know it is not necessarily designed for that but that is what works for me.

Dear Sandy - You did a seminar many years ago in Wellington and I bought the tapes and a book for my daughter. She taught herself to find her
peaceful place and she's used it ever since and so have I.
A couple of years ago you came again and we were both extremely pleased to meet you at a seminar and we both bought tapes and books.
We've been dealing with abusive patterns of behaviour which go back many generations.
I am so overwhelmed at times that I forget my PP and when I consciously remember to do it things improve. And sometimes when I look back over the day and sort out what got me through it, I realise it's the PP kicking in of its own accord somehow. I learn't it well but I need to apply it more often.
I do want to thank you for your dedication to sharing your experiences and learning with all of us and I hope to do more seminars with you either in Australia or in New Zealand in the future.

Each day, in every way, my life gets better and better. Often it is only marginal, but that is better than going back into that awful abyss of before.
Thanks to you I now have a smile in my heart. Even at the end of a tough day (and there are many) I still have a smile in my heart, as well as on my face.
Physically Releasing Anxiety
My daughter and I went to visit my folks in the country for Christmas, and that is what has prompted me to write.
The relationship with my parents is not an easy one. We are very different. There is a cultural difference, and our spiritual beliefs are different. My mother is a very anxious person, who can be a bit like some sort of a wind up gadget that takes forever to unwind and stop. This often happens as a result of the build up of us coming to visit, as it did this Christmas.
Mum's unwinding involves non-stop chatter, that can cover an incredible amount of subject matter, in a short space of time, to be followed by many more rounds. Over the last few years my father has lost some of his hearing and my mother now speaks louder, and with a "do you understand me" quality. One morning as I listened to one of my mother's unwinding rounds, I felt my head booming, with that same feeling you get when your teenager's music booms with too much bass.
As I thought I'd like to turn down the sound this booming effect was felt in my chest, and it shocked me to think that this could be the beginning of an anxiety attack, something I had never experienced before. For a split second I felt fear...and then - I went to my 'Peaceful Place,' and you know what ( and you probably do know) I was back to normal within seconds!
It was amazing!!!! I have used my peaceful place many a time to stop verbal reactions for instance, as well as for meditation etc. but I've never had to use it, and never expected to use it for such a physical thing. Truly amazing. B.B. New South Wales
PP Benefits
Hi Sandy - Being at my PP involves the warmth of the sun's rays through my body. That feeling was the signal of arriving at the Alpha point. It is now becoming a source of healing. Grief can be a confronting and lonely place. Going to my PP has reminded me of the person I have lost, where emotions have overwhelmed me and I sob ... again. However I've discovered that quick trips to my PP through the course of the day, feeling the sun's warmth, is like having a small drink of water after an anaesthesia. Not only does it offer a sense of relief to a difficult reality, but the sips are getting more frequent and longer, without the accompanying guilt for wanting to feel better, and without the urge to cry. I'm beginning to find a reassurance in my PP, moments of peace, moments of warmth, of comfort, of healing, - my Peaceful Place BB, NSW

For me the latest e-report was informative with the keywords compassion, gratitude and requests for our highest and best. I certainly am grateful for being introduced to your peaceful place concept all those years ago. It has set me on a path to be able to manage life challenges in a more suitable way for my mind and body. At the moment our farming community is under "siege" by mining exploration companies, and these relaxation and response skills definitely will assist us and particularly my husband as we make life changes decisions to leave our land that has been our home and bread and butter for so many years.

feel overwhelmed
My husband and I have since taken the lesson learned from Les (live your dreams and have no regrets) and immigrated to USA. It was a long and arduous process, but one that we navigated successfully due in large part to the skills learned in your seminar. When I would start to feel overwhelmed by the immigration process I would go to my PP (which is a cabin in the snow) and calm down right away. I was then able to think more clearly and complete the task at hand confidently. Going to my PP also kept our dream in the forefront of my mind. We wanted to move to America to live closer to nature in the mountains and the snow. For over a year now we have lived in a little red barn in a very rural part of USA about an hour away from the ski fields, and as I am typing this email it is a beautiful sunny day and there is around two feet of snow outside. I think I might walk up the hill in my back yard and go sledding today!

understanding of how my mind works
I still use my Peaceful Place and find it really helpful especially when the worries or stress of life becomes too much. I especially enjoy your monthly Mind Matters News Reports - so lovely and calming and these give me something up-to-date to send any friend who may be interested in learning your Life Skills, this happens occasionally. I always use your CDs when I meditate, they are GREAT!! just so valuable to me. I know I must not become stressed as every time this happens the words I want to say flash away from my mind and if I then when go to my PP and calm myself down everything I need to say returns. I can honestly say you have the best Seminar and teachings I have ever learnt they have given me an understanding of how my mind works and an understanding of its behaviour wanting to get me back where I was before, stressed and worried. I can now see what it is up to! If my mind wins again for a while I will soon correct it by meditating and telling myself how my mind is sabotaging me. All the best for the wonderful work you do. before I start my drive home
Yes I use my PP often, usually at the end of a busy and somewhat stressful day at work. I just sit in my car and take myself off for a few minutes before I start my drive home. I think of you often and even though it is a while now since I did your course in Sydney, the benefits have been wonderful. You were such an inspiration to listen to and I indeed took so much from your course. I hope all is good in your life as well. C.L. NSW
The book was handed on
I did your course in 1991 during a stressful period of my life (we were trying to conceive and entering the IVF programme). I found it very helpful and conceived shortly after!
I used the tapes on and off for years and re read the book a few times. The book was handed on to a needy colleague many years ago and was returned to me only last year with many thanks.
The tapes were lost and of course, no one uses tapes any more.
I am in need of a ‘refresher’ so thought it best to down load the meditations. CM NSW
From a Psychologist
The “peaceful place” is a great tool for people who have attempted to calm the mind through meditation but find their mind continues to “race”. The detailed imaginative technique gives you the tool to go “somewhere” and to place your attention on that space.
The technique may provide relief for people who have difficulty with anger or are experiencing high levels of stress or sadness. It will complement most therapies and provides a potential coping strategy for anyone who feels overwhelmed. This is from a Psychologist, SE NSW, working with Laurence Toltz in promoting the book and cds we did together called "Your Peaceful Place".
right through my degree
I first did the two day CALM seminar in 1995 at a venue in Willoughby? St Leonards? Crows Nest? – anyway, somewhere in that vicinity. I was doing a law degree at the time and not coping. The techniques you taught me helped enormously and I continued to use them right through my degree. I was 39 then and I’m just turning 60 now, and I still use the Guided Imagery/Peaceful Place cassette and also the instrumental only version which I have since bought on CD. I also still use the same ‘peaceful place’ which I ‘built’ at that seminar all those years ago. CS, NSW.
