The information – both on this site and available in the form of books, DVDs, CDs and seminars - uses the newest science available, to provide a personal change technology and coping skills: they are empowering and easy to learn.

Sandy MacGregor is the founder of CALM (Creative Accelerated Learning Methods). He learnt these techniques, which he proved to himself, and then applied to save his life from being one full of hatred and self pity, when his three teenage daughters were murdered in 1987.

Enjoy Life - Live Longer - Naturally

There is no doubt that stress and anxiety can lead to depression, insomnia, lack of concentration, anger, cancer, fear, migraine, physical pain, loss of self esteem and focus and bad habits leading to smoking and weight gain.  Many of today's challenges commence with stress.  Stress and stress related illnesses push many people to an earlier than necessary grave.  With the "Switch On" life coping techniques you will learn important keys not only for healthy longevity but also how to relax and release stress, any time, anywhere in less than 30 seconds.

No matter what we want to achieve or cope with in life, we can make it easier for ourselves if we deliberately use the power of our deeper inner mind.  This is often known as the subconscious mind which is 88% of our mind.  This subconscious mind has in it all our memory, habits, personality, and self image.  So you see, we use it, because we use our memory and our habits but we do not use it deliberately.  Have you ever tried to change a habit just using the conscious mind?  This means you're really using willpower it's quite difficult isn't it?

If we use the subconscious mind deliberately - it's just like clicking a Switch in your head.  Then changing habits, or developing a new habit is a breeze.  We can use it to improve relationships, help to handle grief, improve memory, boost self confidence and much more.

How Do I Know?

I was first introduced to the power of this deeper, inner mind by my son who handled his asthma and saved his leg from being amputated.  He taught me the Switch.  But I am that analytical, "prove-it-to-me", retired Army Colonel, decorated for bravery in Vietnam and with a Civil Engineering Degree.  I am extremely sceptical and need to prove everything to myself.  So I used it for weight release 22 kilos (49 pounds) went in 6 months - without using dieting or exercise.  I was excited and sought further proof.  Standing in front of a doctor I could bring down my blood pressure by 20 points and reduce my pulse so that the doctor couldn't feel it. That's got to be good for longevity.

[ Who is Sandy MacGregor ]

My research took me to how the mind can be applied to accelerative learning (Lazanov teaching languages 3 times, 5 times, 7 times faster than anyone else).  I was even more excited.  And then a tragedy occurred in my life - my 3 daughters were murdered.  I went through hatred, anger, revenge, "Why me?" but I had meditation to help me (taught to me by my son) and I changed these victim-causing thoughts to co-operation, acceptance, unconditional love and forgiveness.

What I was doing within my deeper, inner (subconscious) mind was creating new habits by using the Switch.

Sporting Elite

The elite sporting world has used this knowledge since the Olympic Games in 1960.  Every country in the world now uses it to enhance performance hence Sports Psychologists.  Do you remember seeing Cathy Freeman at the Sydney Olympics just before her final race, being totally focused and "in the Zone"?  She had "Switched On".

Athletics Race

Proof

Whilst I'm on the subject of "proof" (which is necessary for me as I believe it is my responsibility to train others in this area), I'll add a little more.  Professor Roger Sperry received the Nobel Prize in 1981 for identifying the roles of the Left and Right Brain.  Before 1981 he proved that negative talk attracts negative talk, which leads to negative action and then to negative reaction.  Thank goodness for the corollary.  We talk to ourselves more than 50,000 times a day (scientific fact - Deepak Chopra says 65,000 times a day) so it's easy to answer the question "Do we effect ourselves when we have negative self talk?"  Unfortunately negative self talk is so powerful that it can lead to lack of self confidence and depression.

The Sabotaging Voice

Let me go on a little more.  Have you ever had that "little voice" in your mind saying "You're no good! Why do that - you'll fail!  You'll never get it! Don't even attempt it!"  This is called self sabotage.  It's good to recognise that the job of the subconscious mind is to keep you where you are, so ... it really is doing what it is meant to do - keeping you in your Comfort Zone and never expanding it.  You know, it's easy to change negative talk to positive self talk and it's easy to get a supportive subconscious mind so that we can easily achieve even more.  I love teaching about the use of this Switch.

More Proof

Are you aware of the redeeming feature of the subconscious mind?  Here it is - the subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between imagination and reality.  That's fantastic!  You can use that to help yourself.  First you must learn about how to communicate with that deeper, inner mind, using the laws and the language of the subconscious mind.
piece of mind book To give you a hint - Rappaport, a research scientist, proved and wrote in his book in 1971 that emotion is not only involved with memory, it is the very basis on which memory takes place!  Emotion is the "language" of the subconscious mind.  Have you ever wondered why you can recall a past good or bad event so clearly?  The emotion created the memory.  In my books and tapes [Calm books and tapes] and seminars [CALM Life Skills Seminar] I teach you how to use emotion using an "Emotional Anchor" (just another way to apply the Switch) to improve memory ... and it's easy.

The Medical World

The medical world uses the mind for helping patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses it's called "Psycho-Neuro-Immunology".  Dr Bernie Siegel teaches this to his cancer patients using guided imagery and visualisation - what a fantastic doctor is he!  Scientifically it has been proven that we can improve our own immune system.  In the world of psychology, psychotherapy is a well regarded means of assisting people in the throes of emotional turmoil such as depression or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

It's for Everyone!

The tools and techniques to use the power of the subconscious mind - How to Switch On Your Mind - should be taught to everybody above the age of 6 years old, because it makes life just so much easier.  The life skills that I teach have enormous application.  They have been used successfully.  with issues that range from tinnitis to cancer and from accelerated learning to agoraphobia.  Click on any topic in the list to the left of this screen to explore that subject and share people's individual experiences.

Since 1989 I have been writing books [bookshop] and running seminars nearly every weekend [seminar dates] that teach us how to Switch On the Mind and achieve more easily whatever we really want out of life.  I derive great satisfaction and enjoyment from this, particularly because of the feedback I receive from people and how dramatically it has impacted their lives for the better [read their stories].
