Life's Purpose and Synchronicity

Published:

It is amazing in life that what you focus on you'll notice more OR it will indeed flow to you. I've given examples before such as someone wanting to buy say a 1970 yellow Volkswagen and ...... yes, you've guessed it ..... suddenly you start seeing them everywhere. And it was Goethe who said that it's vitally important to take the first step and then the universe responds in countless ways to help.

Synchronicity

Well I'm focusing on people finding out more about, and working towards, their Life's Purpose (which is what my CHI Seminar - Creating Happiness Intentionally is about) and this is what has happened :-
A book came my way called "Who Do You Think You Are?" by Keith Leon. I bought it through Amazon after I was told about it by Terry Tillman (one of my early trainers at the Insight IV Seminar in USA). I also recently watched a brilliant interview with Deepak Chopra talking about happiness. I'll expand on what Deepak said in a future E-Report - as usual, what he had to say was brilliant.

In this book Keith Leon interviews 64 inspirational self growth leaders - at the top of their field in several areas, including successful entrepreneurs, entertainers, educators and healers. Ten of the 64 people who were interviewed in this book were actually also interviewed and reported in "The Secret". Keith Leon asked them questions about themselves which led to each one of them explaining their life's purpose, how they got to that purpose, what events led to their purpose and what advice they have for others.

What a wealth of information is in this book! There are so many common themes worth writing about - some are: meditation, advice, spiritual awareness, exercises and more. There is much I can share with you which can assist all of us and I thought the best way is to do it piecemeal.

Supporting Extracts from the Book Relating to Life Purpose

Much of what is said in the interviews within the book "Who Do You Think You Are?" by Keith Leon echoes my own thoughts and teachings about Life and Life's Purpose. It's often good to have validation and I think the resonance I felt with a lot of what people said in the interviews printed in this book was re-affirming and rewarding. See what you think .... I will copy below summaries of a few of them - the bold highlighting is mine:-

It’s simple, but not necessarily easy. It’s the eternal advice that has been used for millenniums. Follow your heart. Be true to yourself. Follow your bliss. But that’s not easy because it requires great courage. It requires risk. It requires what I call faith steps, stepping into the unknown with zero guarantees and no certainty. It only works if you do it 100%, completely detached, and all along you have to learn life lessons. Surrender, acceptance, detachment, cooperation, enthusiasm, letting go, focus, and all of that is learned in the process. At some point, with a little awareness, it shows up. Terry Tillman.

The search is not outside of your self, the search is within. For those of you who are looking for something outside of yourself to find the answer to who you are, if you redirect your energy and look within, all of your answers are there. Come from that place of knowing, rather than trying to search out something that you don’t know. Realize how much you do know, and really come from yourself. Find yourself in your inner world. Marcia Martin.

Everyone I’ve met or interviewed who is living a life that is full of joy, love, juiciness, vitality and aliveness is always listening to their heart and following it. The best advice I could give anybody is, “to thine own self be true,” and listen, listen, listen to your heart. Move in the direction of what expands you, what brings you more joy, what brings you happiness.

…What I’ve found is that we live in a culture where we are deeply habituated to searching outside of ourselves for fulfillment, and it’s not there. I’m all for having wonderful things in life; there is nothing wrong with that. But ultimately the deepest and truest fulfillment in life is not to be found "out there". Research is actually showing this. Recent studies show that we all have a “happiness set point”, a level of happiness that we tend to stay at, no matter what happens to us (yes, including winning t he lottery!), unless we consciously do something to change it.

So, can we change it? It turns out that fifty percent of our set point is determined by our genes; we’re born with it. The great news is that only ten percent is based on our circumstances, and the other forty percent is based on our habitual thoughts and behaviours. That’s what we can change, and forty percent can make a huge difference.
We’re all so busy trying to change our circumstances in life and gather all the things and achievements we think will make us happy. But that’s not where happiness is to be found; all that stuff accounts for just 10 percent of our happiness. According to science, the way we can significantly raise our happiness set point and enjoy a stable state of happiness is by changing our habitual thoughts, attitudes and behaviours.

First, I would suggest that you celebrate who you are and where you are now. In other words, celebrate your accomplishments. I think all great things come from the rich soil of gratitude, and celebration is a wonderful form of expressing gratitude. Lee Brower.

Look at your talents. Ask yourself, “What talents do I have?” You are given the talents you need to fulfill your life purpose. If your natural talents have to do with singing and dancing, then maybe your purpose is to be an entertainer. .... If your talents have to do with easily and effortlessly persuading people, your life purpose may have to do with com munication, sales or leadership. So look at what talents you’ve been given and figure out clues they are giving you about what your purpose is. I find that to be a really powerful pathway to clarity about your life purpose. We each have a set of what I call “core geniuses” that when we are expressing them, we find that success comes easily and effortlessly. Jack Canfield.

Ultimately, I would say that it’s important to face your fear head on, and welcome it, because it’s your friend. The avoidance of fear is far worse than the actual fear itself. It’s much more painful.
I’d say the most important thing I ever did was to decide not to be a victim any more. I participate in my own life, and I understand that only I can dictate what happens. I will constantly find my part in an equation. What is my role in this relationship? I always have a part in my relationships, whether it’s a business relationship, a love relationship or whatever it is.
Craig Shoemaker.

An often repeated piece of advice is to ... Begin it Now! Get the momentum going. Other patterns of concurrence also emerge ... self esteem, gratitude, the importance of meditation (quiet time), positive thought, responsibility. You'll find E-Reports that I have written on most of these subjects - you can check them out at my website www.calm.com.au

My CHI Seminar is about determining your Life's Purpose and all the goals that lead you there.

If you had security – in income, in love, in safety, in health and more – would that lead to your happiness? If you had more friends, a family, a better career …. would that lead to your happiness? If you had abundance in all things you need – would that lead to your happiness

When I talk to the people that I meet who are truly happy, many of them tell me that their happiness is not just an accident, but that they actively work for it. Above all they know the purpose of their lives – they have a clear vision of why they are alive and where they are going in life. They have goals in different areas so that their lives are balanced, and their values actively support those goals.

The essence of the CHI Seminar is about really getting on track with your life so that you can actually live your dreams – using the powerful CALM mind techniques to discover the main purpose of your life, to decide on goals that support you in all areas of your life, and to make sure that your values, the things that drive you, truly support those goals. This knowledge is a potent force that will lead you towards the life you desire.

The CHI Seminar is an inspiring and exciting life adventure. Can you imagine being able to talk about anything you wish, in the safe and supportive company of like-minded people, and know that you are in the presence of love and true acceptance? CHI attracts ordinary people like you and me who are dedicated to living an extraordinary life. Previous participants have gained really wonderful insights into themselves and their lives, and the group energy and friendship that is developed is incredibly powerful. I know that the seminar will help you to totally take control of your life – to create your happiness intentionally.

Most Appropriate Words From Marianne Williamson

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I'm hoping that some of the thoughts and ideas of these people I have quoted may inspire you, or even push you along the way of really discovering your life's purpose. I know that the CHI Seminar is a great step in this direction and it will help you determine your Life's Purpose Now. Meditate on what you have read and ask yourself if this seminar is the right thing for you.

So, make a commitment to yourself to reflect on doing the CHI seminar. Come and join me; I really love facilitating it and being part of the personal break-throughs that occur.
All the best,

Testimonials from recent CHI Participants

The CHI Seminar provided an opportunity to focus on what’s important in my life now and for the next 5 years, in a supportive, friendly and non-judgemental environment. It has provided a structure within which to set goals and accomplish them to achieve a balanced enjoyable life. It also provided an opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and develop friendships. Sandra D. Vic.

I was already focused before attending CHI but without knowing exactly how to clarify what I wanted out of life, CHI has clarified several aspects of my life, given me direction and purpose. I am more motivated and confident about achieving the things I want. It has given me an awareness of what is important to me and therefore helped me to prioritise those things. It has helped me realise that any obstacle I have in achieving my goals, is me. CHI has made me aware of the importance of setting goals and of reviewing them. It has also introduced me to a wonderful group of people who are all interested in improving their lives and their sense of purpose and direction. Annette E, WA.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend the CHI Seminar. I found the 5 days challenging, exciting, stimulating, spiritual and extremely rewarding.
One of the great benefits was the opportunity to take 5 days out of our busy world and focus totally on finding my purpose in life and developing the goals to reach my life purpose with people of a like mind. Allan B, NZ.

The CHI Seminar has provided me with the tools to increase my meditation ability and focus on matters and goals that can and will influence my life.
While fate can often present us with opportunities and ‘curve balls’ that are beyond our ability to alter, this seminar clearly demonstrates that we are to a very large degree, in control of our own destiny.
Also attending this seminar with my partner has given us the opportunity to set and achieve joint goals that will benefit not just myself, but also my partner and our family. This experience has impacted on both of us in a most positive and loving way.
Thanks Sandy for sharing your experience and your personal journey for the betterment of others. Graham L, Qld.
